On October 23, during the General Assembly, Jean-Marc Banquet d’Orx presented the new guide to hotels and restaurants in Seine-et-Marne, published by UMIH. A true tourist tool, it will be distributed free of charge at service stations and tourist offices.
The assembly then benefited from insightful presentations on topics relevant to the sector.
The Macron ordinances were carefully examined by Sophie Petroussenko, legal counsel for UMIH Paris Ile-de-France, who elaborated on the implications of these measures for businesses in the sector.
Gaëtan Mangeon, from the accounting firm NSK, addressed the topic of real estate ownership for business owners, detailing the advantages and disadvantages of buying and renting, noting that there is no single best practice in this area.
The expectations of new customer segments, particularly those aged 15 to 35, known as millennials, are the subject of a study by Fafih, which will be published soon. Nicolas El Hakim outlined the key findings, emphasizing the importance for professionals to understand this new clientele who, in both their personal and professional lives, seek to share an engaging and immersive experience.
The Seine-et-Marne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in Serris hosted the General Assembly of UMIH Paris Ile-de-France, chaired by Jean-Marc Banquet d’Orx.
Finally, Nadia Ayadi, a member of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France Regional Economic Development Commission, presented the CCI’s report, “Tourism in Ile-de-France: Surprising and Innovating to Remain a Leader.” The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) highlights five priorities: developing a coordinated customer approach, improving tourist reception and mobility, enriching the accommodation offering, supporting innovation in tourism services, and assisting businesses in the sector.
Tourism in the Île-de-France region represents:
The world’s leading tourist region;
• 45 million tourists per year (including 20 million international visitors);
• More than 90,000 businesses – 500,000 jobs;
• €40 billion in tourist spending per year;
• 400 trade shows and 1,000 conferences each year, generating €5.5 billion in economic benefits.

Café owners, restaurateurs, and hoteliers gather for conferences and a trade show.
Fabien Zebbar, President, and the entire UMIH38 Board of Directors welcomed all member professionals on September 9th. These professionals, whom they represent daily in local economic and tourism bodies, participated in a meeting to exchange knowledge and share experiences. Throughout the day, the professionals met with suppliers, hotel schools and vocational training centers (CFA), training organizations, insurers, and job sites. The day also included presentations on topics specific to our industry:
• Presentation of the Artisan Chef status and the Maître Restaurateur title by Nicolas Alussi, CMA Isère, and Thomas Langlois, Isère Tourisme;
• How to welcome an apprentice/intern to your establishment by Christophe Etaix from IMT, Christophe Fournier from EFMA, Elodie Cartier-Lange from the internship office of the Grenoble Vocational High School for Hospitality and Tourism (Beaumarchais campus), and Yves Champion from the Grenoble Vocational High School for Hospitality and Tourism (Clos d’Or campus);
• Social protection for managers by Maxime Samica from Klésia;
• Fire safety / Accessibility / Hotel classification by Cendrine Vieux-Combe, Béranger Darley, Karine Baffalie from Apave, and Anne Courtat from the Departmental Directorate of Territories;
• Training yourself and your employees: What solutions are available? by Olivier Perrot – UMIH Formation;
